Itanagar: Starting the election journey on a winning note in Arunachal Pradesh, BJP’s face in the frontier state as well as in North East Kiren Rijiju today said that the saffron brigade will win more than 21 seats in the region.
“I have seen the mood of the nation… in North East we have 25 seats..reports we are getting from ground Congress may not win any seat…because people of North East has given enough opportunity… there will be seats our NDA partners will win…..my report is that we will win 22 seats in the region,” Kiren Rijiju told UNI.
Rijiju who is also in the fray for re-election in the Lok Sabha from the prestigious Arunachal West Parliamentary seat said that this is the time for BJP and he is a firm believer that people of the region have understand that the region has lost its glory under Congress regime.
“In undivided India, Dibrugarh was the highest revenue generating district in whole of India today its South Mumbai. Our dream is to get the lost glory, we have all the natural resources, we have in abundance all the necessary things which can make North East as a very important economic and commercial hub,” Rijiju added.
Delving on the much hyped Look Act East Policy which envisaged opening up of trade routes with South East Asian countries with the North Eastern region, Mr Rijijiu said, “God has been kind to North East we have everything in us but we lacked the support of government of India under Congress rule that is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi change look east policy to act east policy which is backed by action,” Rijiju said who is locked into a three corner fight with Congress veteran and former chief minister Nabam Tuki and Janata Dal United candidate Jajrum Ete.
