PCI impleads in ST case

SHILLONG: The Press Council of India has filed an application for impleadment in the case of The Shillong Times in the Supreme Court.
The Apex Court recently stayed the High Court order against the editor and publisher of the newspaper and issued notice to the Registrar.
The High Court had imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh each for publishing a report on HC judges.
Earlier, the council had condemned the High Court order of fining the editor and the publisher.
In its application, the council said it was aggrieved by the order of the High Court in the contempt case against the newspaper.
