Drugs control officer’s murder condemned

SHILLONG: The Drugs Control Officers, Government of Meghalaya along with representatives of the Meghalaya Pharmacy Council, Meghalaya Government Pharmacists’ Association, and Meghalaya Pharmacy Professional Association have condemned the brutal murder of Neha Shoree, zonal licensing authority of the Drugs Control Department of Punjab while discharging her duties on March 29.
The condolence meeting was held at 11:30am on Wednesday in the conference hall of the Directorate of Health Services (MI), Shillong, Meghalaya.
The meeting observed two minutes of silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Attendants also wore black ribbons to signify outrage and disapproval over the incident.
In a statement issued here, licensing & controlling authority, Meghalaya, Anthony Laloo said, “Shoree is a martyr who bravely fought and sacrificed her life for the cause of the people of this country and her death is a loss to all the Drugs Control officers of India and the state of Punjab in particular.”
