SHILLONG: An interview for appointment of jugali in MeECL was stopped in Mawkyrwat on Wednesday as it was in violation of the model code of conduct.
M/s FEDCO, which was appointed by MeECL a few days back, was conducting the two-day interview that started on Tuesday for the posts of meter readers, bill clerk and jugali.
Last year, some jugali had filed a case in the High Court against MeECL, which is still pending.
The district election officer of Mawkyrwat has issued a notice to FEDCO.
