Banned WY tablets worth Rs 27 cr seized in Manipur

GUWAHATI: Troops of  Assam Rifles seized contraband  “World is Yours” tablets  worth around Rupees 27 crore on Friday and apprehended three persons who were trying to smuggle the drugs to Imphal from Tengnoupal district  close to Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur.

Based on specific  input from  DRI Imphal, regarding  smuggling of   contraband item through the jungle track, Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles launched an operation to track the smugglers.

The three apprehended were identified as Paokholen Khongsai from  Lhanghoi Village under  Tengnoupal Sub Division,  Phogin Mang Khongsai and Sei Kho Len from  Ward No. 9 of  Moreh Town bordering Myanmar.

The seven plastic sand bags in possession of the apprehended persons had been found full of contraband World is Yours tablets.
