BJP and allies will win 19 to 21 seats in NE: Himanta

GUWAHATI: Convenor of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Saturday stated in Imphal that the BJP and its allies would win 19 to 21 seats from the North East in the Lok Sabha election.

Himanta, who was in Imphal on Saturday ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit slated for Sunday said  regarding poll strategy of the party vis-à-vis  Manipur, the BJP was moving in the right direction to win both the constituencies in the state.

The NEDA Convenor also added that in Assam BJP will get nine to 10 seats out of total 14 parliamentary constituencies. Regarding Meghalaya he didn’t not mention about winning but talked about getting good number of votes.

Regarding the CAB, he said, after the Parliament election, when there would be discussion on CAB we would follow the consensus and consultation of the people of NE.  Himanta said the people of Manipur should not worry about CAB.
