SHILLONG: Confident of winning the Lok Sabha election, BJP MLA and Cabinet Minister AL Hek on Saturday said the party is gaining strength every day as it is preparing for the election.
Speaking to newsmen here, Hek said the BJP is growing stronger by the day in Meghalaya with party leaders making efforts to win the Lok Sabha elections from both Shillong and Tura seats.
He said party leaders and workers are aggressively campaigning in different parts of the state to drum up support for BJP candidate Sanbor Shullai.
It may be mentioned that BJP, despite being a partner in the MDA, has opted to go alone and contest the election from both the seats.
The party in the recent past had faced challenges in the North East after the Lok Sabha passed the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
Petrol bomb was also hurled at the BJP office in Shillong and there were demands from the coalition partners of the MDA to drop the party from the alliance.
