Training on pest management held

Shillong: A six-day training programme — Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) on IPM in Vegetables — was held at KVK training hall, ICAR.
The programme was organised by ICAR, KVK, West Garo Hills in collaboration with ATARI Zone VII, Barapani, SAMETI, Meghalaya and MANAGE, Hyderabad.
Fifteen participants, including rural youth, farmers and farm women, attended the programme where training on integrated pest management (IPM) in vegetables and handling of bioagents in biopesticides was provided. Further, proper use of baits for attracting fruit flies and aphids was also explained to the participants. The training course comprised of both theoretical and practical components. The training concluded with distribution of certificates to the participants along with bio-inputs like Trichoderma harzianum, neem oil and Beauveria bassiana.
