GUWAHATI: Late Maj David Manlun, Kirti Chakra (Posthumous) was remembered on Monday  as his bust was unveiled at Tizit, Mon district of Nagaland. His parents were present on this solemn occasion. The ceremony was attended by many military and civil dignitaries.

“A Hero is someone who has given his life to something bigger than oneself.” This quote aptly describes martyrs of Indian Army. One such hero was Major David Manlun.

Besides representation by all the officers of civil administration, the Anghs and Village Chiefs of all the neighbouring villages were present to pay their respect to the martyr Maj David Manlun who had laid down his life on June 6, 2017 during an encounter with  insurgents at Lapa village near Tizit.
