249 polling stations vulnerable, 68 critical in Meghalaya

SHILLONG:  With the election to Shillong Lok Sabha seta slated for April 11 next,  1074 teams of polling officials  left for their respective polling stations on Tuesday  while another  2093 polling teams will leave for their respective polling stations on Wednesday.

There are over 700 polling station considered vulnerable while 249 are critical and 68 are both critical and vulnerable.

Chief Electoral Officer, FR Kharkongor said that  volunteers and Matdan  mitras have also been deployed in their respective polling stations.

The total electorates  in Meghalaya for the year 2019   has gone upto 1914795 from 1892716  at the time of the  final publication of the electoral roll.

The total number of voters in Shillong parliamentary constituency is 1197806 including 586092  male and 611714  voters.

There are also service 2144  voters. As far as Tura seat is concern, there are 716989 voters including  363529  male and  353460  female voters.

In Tura constituency, there are 1280  service voters and 2 NRI voters
