SHILLONG: The Opposition Congress has said the allegation of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma that the former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has pushed the state into financial crisis is baseless.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Opposition Chief Whip P T Sawkmie said the issue was raised only during election and added that the NPP chief has no other issues to be raked up against his predecessor.
“The people of Garo Hills know what the then Chief Minister, who has a vision for the state and the whole country, had done for the development of the whole of Garo Hills, though nobody can be perfect in fulfilling all the aspirations of the people”, Sawkmie said.
According to Sawkmie, the people of Garo Hills are wise enough to understand the actual situation.
