MPPA presses for a pharmacy college in state

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pharmacy Professionals Association (MPPA) reiterated its demand to establish a pharmacy college in the state.

In a statement issued here, the association said since its inception it had been urging the state government for establishing the pharmacy college which is non-existent in the state till today.

Further, the association said a request was made to the state government for outlets in government hospitals to start the scheme, “Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadi Pariyojana” for the welfare of pharmacists and the public at large.

An official letter through the association was submitted in October 2018 to the government for conducting elections of members of the Meghalaya State Pharmacy Council.

The association said the government hs responded and the election proceedings will take place soon.
