NONGSTOIN: A twelve- wheeler truck met with an accident at Jaidohkroh in Nongspung village, West Khasi Hills on Wednesday.
The truck bearing registration no UP 15M 8373 was loaded with electric posts when it overturned while proceeding towards Riangdo. The truck was severely damaged. The helper identified as 29-year-old Anil Kumar of Grampipripura, and the driver 26-year old Omirsingh Yadav of Gramprathipur, were shifted to Civil Hospital, Nongstoin.
Upon medical check-up the helper suffered serious injuries and was shifted to NEGRIHMS. Further enquiry is on to ascertain the reason of the accident.
It maybe mentioned that 16 people died at the same spot at Jaidohkroh in Nongspung in 2016.
