Queue management app
The Qmanagement app appeared to have fallen short of expectations with not many takers. The app was introduced by the election department for the first time to draw more voters to the polling stations. An election official said updates were given regarding queues in 113 polling stations.
He also said that in Ichamati 400 voters had gathered at 10 am, However, due to the app the number kept on reducing gradually.

Social media allegation
An allegation surfaced in the Facebook page of a person claiming to be one Barnabas Nongbah who said that the symbol of the lotus came up in the VVPAT on pressing any button.
He said it was reported from one of the polling booths in the Assembly segment of BJP MLA AL Hek. To this allegation, the Chief Electoral Officer, Frederick Kharkongor, said the matter was checked and there was nothing to it.

First time voter
The Shillong Times also came across some first time voters in a polling station in Mawlai.
A girl said she felt excited to vote. Her friend echoed her and said that she exercised her right to franchise and was able to express herself.
