Nagaland scrutiny meet decides against re-polling
Kohima: A scrutiny meeting on the polling called by Nagaland Commissioner and Returning Officer Motsuthung Patton, Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Sinha, Deputy CEO N Moa Aier, General Observers and Expenditure Observers, with the representatives of all political parties of Nagaland, decided that there will be no re-poll for any polling station of Nagaland. According to sources in CEO’s office the meeting has decided not to demand for any re-poll to any polling station, but decided that some of the polling stations did not erase the voting during the drill of mock polling. The meeting decided that the counting of votes will be on the basis of VVPAT for the Polling Station 27 Bank Colony of Dimapur-I Assembly Constituency, PS 57 Rangapahar village of Dimapur-II A/C, PS 1 Nikhehu in Ghaspani-II A/C in Dimapur, PS 23 Yaongyimsen III of Arkakong A/C in Mokokchung and PS 9 Suruhoto town under Zunheboto district, sources said. Two Manipuri traffickers held in Nagaland with drugs
Kohima: Two Manipuri drug traffickers have been arrested along with 900 grams of brown sugar and four live rounds of ammunition in Khuzuma in Nagaland, officials said. Besides, two mobile telephones were seized by the Nagaland Police from the traffickers identified as A. Mao and P. Zatso, both from Lai village in Senapati district in Manipur, on Thursday evening. The seized brown sugar is valued at crores of rupees in the international market, officials said. The drugs were packed in 60 small packets concealed at different parts of the car in which the traffickers were travelling from Manipur to Nagaland. They were intercepted along the Manipur-Nagaland border. For a long time, Manipur has been the conduit for drug trafficking in the Northeast. (IANS)

Five bullets lost by cop recovered in Tripura district
Ambassa: Five bullets of 9 mm pistol were recovered on Friday morning by pedestrians at Manikbhander area in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai. According to the information, some pedestrians noticed a bullet of .9 mm pistol on the roadside. They informed the matter to a local person and retired Sub Inspector of Police identified as Kripesh Chakraborty. Later he discovered four more bullets wrapped up in a dirty handkerchief and submitted the same to police. However, police has been trying to suppress the fact as the bullets have been lost from any officer of the police station. (UNI)

Nagaland Governor extends festive greetings to people
Kohima: Nagaland Governor PB Acharya conveyed Rama Navami, Rongali Bihu, Vishu and Vaisakhi greetings to the Hindu, Assamese, Malayali and Bengali communities living in Nagaland in particular and people in general. According to a release by the PRO of Raj Bhavan of Kohima, Governor Acharya stated that Rama Navami is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birthday of Lord Rama. Stating that Lord Rama was an embodiment of great virtues and the highest values, Governor Acharya hoped that his example guides all on the path of noble deeds. (UNI)
