CRPF jawan from Assam killed in Jharkhand encounter

GUWAHATI: Three Maoists and a CRPF jawan from Assam were killed in a gun battle with Maoists that took place  in Giridih district of Jharkhand on Monday.

The slain CRPF jawan has been identified as Biswajit Chouhan, who hails  from Barpukhiri village of Assam’s Udalguri district. He was a constable at the 7th battalion of the CRPF.

The encounter took place around 6AM in the forests of Belbha Ghat area of Giridih district when troops of the 7th battalion of the CRPF were undertaking operations.
