TURA: A huge turnout of voters for the repolling at Konachar polling station in Selsella is taking place with over 66 percent voting registered by 1 O’clock Monday afternoon.
Konachar polling station is having a repoll for both the Tura Lok Sabha and Selsella assembly by-election due to a mix up of the EVMs and VVPATs during the April 11 election in Garo Hills for the two seats.
Polling picked up by 11 AM itself with 42.28 percent registered for the Tura Lok Sabha and 41.99 for the assembly by-poll.
An hour after midday, at 1 PM the polling percentage had risen to a staggering 66% for both the elections. Election officials are optimistic the figure could cross the 80% mark by the time polls close at 4 PM.
