Re-poll in 19 polling stations in Arunachal

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Additional Chief Electoral Officer Kanki Darang on Wednesday announced that re-polling will be held in 19 polling stations on Saturday from 0600 to 1400 hrs.
In Arunachal West parliamentary seat, 14-Nachiban polling station under Bomdila Assembly constituency, re-polling will be held, while in Bameng and Chayangtajo Assembly constituencies under East Kameng district, re-polling will be held in 37-Jomoh, 4-Yangfo, 5-Tagampu and 24-Pipu polling stations respectively, Darang stated.
He said in Yachuli Assembly constituency under Lower Subansiri district, there will be re-poll in 2-Deed and 8-Pania polling stations while in Daporijo and Dumporijo Assembly constituencies under Upper Subansiri district in 21-Bayor, 42-Leya, 47-Rebi and 5-Nasi.
Darang said in Liromoba and Likabali Assembly constituencies under West Siang district, re-polling will be held in 14-Kamki Dego and 20-Sogum polling stations.
In Arunachal East parliamentary seat, 34-Messing polling station under Pangin Assembly seat in Siang district there will be re-polling, while in Namsai Assembly constituency in 27-Wagunpather, 29-Nongtaw Khamti and 30-Wingseng Nongtaw, he stated.
He said these polling stations are those wherein few voting did not take place on April 11 due to defective EVMs, while in some stations, voting was conducted without using VVPAT, adding, some EVMs were damaged while some got wet following accident.
Darang also informed that Arunachal recorded 77.38 per cent turnout during assembly and LS elections on April 11. (UNI)
