Washington D.C: Love knows no boundaries and a welder Michael Hayes from Kentucky proved it, by making a replica of the ‘Iron Throne’ from the popular series ‘Game of Thrones’ for his beau. Hayes (32) teamed up with some students from Louisville’s Knight School of Welding to build the 200 lbs. throne for his wedding, reported People. “He was getting married and [he and his wife] really love the ‘Game of Thrones’ and he wanted to know if we could make something like this for his wedding,” Matt Hobbs, school owner, told People. “We said we could do it for him… [instructor] Anthony Williams, he’s a really good designer and artsy guy, he took off with it,” he added. To turn his dream into a reality, Hayes got USD 7,800 donated by the school. The team completed the task of making the life-sized throne in about two months. Matt described the project to be a great learning experience and said, “We’re always trying to create stuff and make learning fun in our environment. When you get through your basics then get to the part where you can work on these thrones and carriages.” He added, “You’re actually doing a real-world project and you get self-gratification out of it because you step back and you’re like, Wow! I had a part in that.” Hayes got married in September last year and he still remembers how his guests were left awestruck on seeing the life-size throne. The final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ started airing on April 14. (ANI)
