SHILLONG: BJP MLA Sanbor Shullai took a dig at the Congress party and the regional parties for their disadvantages in not being in the ruling government at the Centre.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he dismissed talks of the BJP being anti-minority and anti-Christian as political propaganda.
Shullai said that, Congress candidate Vincent Pala does not even attend Parliament; he is busy expanding his business in Delhi. ‘He does not even work’. “As for the regional parties, they were once upon a time elected from the state to Delhi. However, they did not get a chance to speak, they sit in the corner and munch on chestnuts for the whole five years,” he said.
He said there was less time for preparation for the Lok Sabha elections and it is up to the wisdom of the people. Having travelled to rural villages of Ri-Bhoi and Jaintia Hills, he found there were problems of road connectivity, electricity, water supply, dilapidated school conditions, CHCs and PHCs are reduced to cow sheds.
