MCA Lodha reforms compliant

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Cricket Association was recently declared as fully compliant of Justice R.N. Lodha committee recommendations on reforms approved by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
Meghalaya Cricket Association is among the dozen member states of BCCI to have adopted the constitution in consonance with the apex court guidelines to attain full member state status. Honorary Secretary of MCA Naba Bhattacharjee, who was called for a meeting with the three CoAs at New Delhi on April 24 was informed of the same including assuring him of immediate commencement of development works within first fortnight of May this year; primarily relaying of ground and turf wickets at par with national standards in MCA Cricket grounds at Polo, in Shillong and Allotgre in Tura including installation of standard dressing rooms and other infrastructure, to be completed before onset of next season. The work will be executed by expert agencies in ground and pitch development empanelled with BCCI for both ground and turf wickets. A notable feature of the intervention at Shillong shall be introduction of rye grass from England, by experts, considering similar climatic conditions.
