GUWAHATI: The 12504 Agartala-Bangalore Hum Safar Express derailed in between Churaibari and Kalkalighat stations under Lumding Division of N.F. Railway at 7.52 AM on Tuesday. Two wheels of the front trolley of engine got derailed. The location is about 26 kms away from Karimganj station.
There is no causality, no injury to anyone in the incident. Accident Relief Train (ART) immediately left from Badarpur for the site. Additional General Manager along with high officials from HQrs and Division rushed to the spot.
The train was pulled back by a relief engine to Churaibari station where passengers were provided with all necessary assistance.
The Accident Relief Train immediately started work after reaching the site and as a result derailed wheels the engine were put back to normal position. The track was declared fit for train movement at 12-10 pm.
The cause of accident is being investigated.
