Accident
On Friday around midnight, one bus (ML-08B-6504) driven by Md. Israfil met with an accident at Matrongkolgre near Zikzak in South West Garo Hills. Eleven occupants of the bus sustained injuries and were taken to PHC Zikzak and CH Ampati for treatment.
On Friday evening, one vehicle (ML-10A-2292) driven by Lakitbok Nongrum capsized at Thadrang village in Ri Bhoi. Kolip Kharlukhi (70) died on the spot.
On April 25 around 12:30am, one tanker (TR-02D-1665) knocked down Ardawanki Tariang at Wapung Skur village in East Jaintia Hills. The victim sustained grievous injuries and was admitted at CH Jowai for treatment.
According to a delayed report, on the morning of April 10, one Chevrolet car (ML-05J-0349) driven by Md. Joshizal Hoque (49) met with an accident at Chellipara in South West Garo Hills. The driver died on the spot while his daughter sustained grievous injuries and was taken to CH Tura.

Assault
Giljing Sangma lodged a complaint stating that on Saturday around 2 am, unidentified masked miscreants (8) claiming that they were sent by Bina Marak, assaulted Dallandra Sangma in his house at Dalmang village in North Garo Hills.
According to a report, on Saturday evening, one Ajay Singh assaulted his wife and other family members at the Shillong Municipal Board Quarters in Bivar Road, 4th Furlong.
On Friday around 7:30 pm, Vivek Thabah assaulted his wife at their residence in Pynthorbah Block-I. The victim was taken to CH Shillong where she was later referred to NEIGRIHMS for better treatment.

Clash
A group clash took place at Kombe A’ding village under Tura PS in West Garo Hills on Sunday evening. The reason behind the clash was reportedly due to denial of burial ground by a section of villagers regarding a long pending land dispute. Following this district authorities rushed to the spot and held a meeting with the Nokma and village elders after which the matter was amicably resolved.

Hit and run
On Saturday around 1:30am, an unknown vehicle fatally knocked down Ever Pohlong (56) at Amlarem NH-40E in West Jaintia Hills. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver sent to CH Jowai.

Plantation damaged
Meladalin Lyting, Listerwell Lyting and Sony Lyting lodged a joint complaint stating that on their strawberry plantations were found damaged by unknown miscreants on Friday.

Theft
Dewanoa Nongrang, I/c Security, NEHU lodged a complaint stating that on April 25 around 6 am, unknown miscreants had broken into the Convention Hall of NEHU in Mawlai Mawroh and stole eight steel water taps from the gent’s toilet.
On April 25 around 3pm, unknown miscreants stole Rs 2 lakh from a shop belonging to Landing K Syntiew at Nonglang Market in West Khasi Hills.
Doreen Lyngdoh lodged a complaint stating that on April 25 around 9:30 am, unknown miscreants had stolen the music system from her vehicle (ML-05H-8050) which was parked at Mawlai Motsyiar.
Lamphrang Warbah of Mawlai Nonglum Block-II, lodged a complaint stating that on April 14 around 6:30 pm, unknown miscreants had stolen the music system along with a pen-drive valued at Rs 16,000 from a vehicle (ML-05M-7508) belonging to Lari Kharjana which was parked near his residence.
