Lookout notice for truckers

SHILLONG: The Ri Bhoi police have issued a lookout notice for four truck drivers who were allegedly involved in the assault and subsequent death of home guard Dismarlin Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi on April 24.
The four truck drivers are Naba Baruah, Sona Ram Boro, Suresh Boro and Sadhan Jamatia. The four, hailing from Assam, were booked under sections 302 and 34 IPC.
Section 34 deals with acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention while Section 302 is punishment for murder.
Lyngkhoi was posted at FCI Khanapara when the incident occurred.
While Baruah is from Singimari, Darang district, Sona Ram is from Kekerikuchi, Tamalpur in Baksa district.
Suresh is from Dumuria, also under Baksa district while Jamatia is from Patharkuchi, Beltola, Kamrup Metro district.
The truck drivers belong to the Assam-based Saikia Company.
Police said any person who knows the whereabouts of the accused can inform the police and the identity of the informant will not be disclosed.
Meanwhile, a delegation of members of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Mawlai circle and the FKJGP Mawlai met officials of the FCI, Mawlai Mawroh, on Tuesday with a request to provide job to a family member of the deceased since his widow has to look after five children, the youngest being three months old.
The officials of FCI informed the delegation that the onus of appointing employees is on the central body in Delhi. However, they will write to the Delhi head office and send copies of the KSU and FKJGP’s letter to the FCI.
