APS Shillong, Christ School excel in CBSE exam

SHILLONG: Continuing the legacy of excellence and commitment, the class 12 students of Army Public School, Shillong have put up a brilliant performance in the All India Senior School Certificate Examination 2019 conducted by CBSE, the results of which were declared on Thursday.
Out of 171 students who appeared for the examinations this year, 41 students have scored an aggregate of 90 per cent and above.
Deeshant Bhattacharjee topped the Science stream by scoring a remarkable aggregate of 97 per cent, Deepa Bairi secured second position with 96.6 per cent and Anindita Guha secured third position with 95.4 per cent.
In Humanities, Akanksha Roy and Bahnishikha Biswas scored an aggregate of 94.6 per cent, Farhana Ahmed secured second position with 93.6 per cent and Adriel Salnang K Marak secured third position with 93.4 per cent.
In the Commerce stream, Abhik Purkayastha & Aniket Chokhani scored an impressive aggregate of 92.4 per cent, Tarun Joshi secured second position by scoring 91.2 per cent and Raghav Chokhani secured third position with 90 per cent.
Nine other students secured full marks in Physical Education, one student secured 99 in English, two students secured 99 in Biology, two students secured 99 in Political Science, one student secured 99 in Geography and one student secured 99 in Computer Science.
Meanwhile, Christ Senior Secondary School in Nongsder, Ri Bhoi also recorded an excellent overall result.
The school put up an impressive pass percentage of 100 per cent in the science and commerce streams and 97 per cent in Humanities.
