SHILLONG: Fatima Nonglang, the widow of Dismarlin Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi, the home guard personnel who was killed in Ri-Bhoi on Thursday said the authorities should nab the culprits involved.
“As a widow I am facing hardship,” she said while addressing the media with her three-month-old baby on her back.
She was accompanied by members of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Mawlai Circle and FKJGP Mawlai circle.
Lyngdoh was the sole breadwinner of the family. The eldest of his five children, a son, is studying in BA second semester, the second is studying in class XII while the third and fourth children are in class X and Class VIII respectively.
The leaders of the organisations said that the mother was considering asking her children to stop pursuing their studies as she can no longer afford their education.
They have met the Commandant Home Guard with regard to expediting payment of compensation to the family.
