Assam CM urges NHIDCL for completion of 4-lane Numaligarh-Dibrugarh highway

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday inspected four laning of busy Numaligarh-Dibrugarh National Highway and urged the NHIDCL authorities to complete the project in a time bound manner.

The Chief Minister during inspection also asked NHIDCL to expeditiously carry out repair works of existing portion of the NH to ensure seamless traffic movement.

While interacting with NHIDCL authorities at Teok in Jorhat district, Chief Minister Sonowal expressed dissatisfaction over slow progress of four laning project. He asked them to ensure uninterrupted progress of construction and also stressed on proper maintenance of the existing NH.

Sonowal further advised NHIDCL to keep adequate manpower, machine and materials ready for smooth progress of construction. He also assured all kinds of support from the state government for ensuring timely executing of four laning of the NH.

General Manager of NHIDCL Ajit Pal Singh Brar informed the Chief Minister that four laning of Numaligarh-Dibrugarh NH is expected to be complete within December, 2020.

Jorhat MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, officials of Jorhat district administration, Managers of NHIDCL Rupam Deka and Riki Anand were also present during the Chief Minister’s inspection of the four laning works.
