SHILLONG: Four minors were saved from drowning by BSF personnel on Thursday.
The incident happened when the four boys – Leading Stone (6), Abhijeet (7), Tranky (5) and Barik (16)- were swimming in Khuri nullah near BSF BOP Lynghat.
However, due to sudden rain the water level of the nullah increased with high current, sweeping away the minors.
On hearing the children’s cry for help an officer and 13 others jumped into the river and rescued the boys who are residents of Lyngkhat village, Pynursla, East Khasi Hills.
The villagers extended their gratitude to the BSF personnel.
