Theft
On May 5, Akhirul Islam lodged a complaint that miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-08C-9114) from Duguripara village (South West Garo Hills).
On the intervening night of May 5 and 6, miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05Q-6097) belonging to Robertstar Mawlein from Demseiniong, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Kemport M Marak lodged a complaint that on May 3, miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-08F-6391) from his residential compound at Songbandugre village under Dalu PS (West Garo Hills).
Batteries worth over Rs 2 lakh stolen
Pyrkhat Papeng (security guard) lodged a complaint that on May 3 around 9 am, during his absence, three unidentified persons claiming themselves as officials of Jio and Airtel Co. Ltd., went to his residence at Iooksi village (West Jaintia Hills) and asked for the key from his sister, on the pretext of checking the Jio-Airtel mobile tower at the village. On May 6 around 9 am, he detected that twenty-five batteries valued around Rs. 1,27,000 were missing from the tower site.
Alphius Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that on April 30, miscreants stole thirteen tower batteries valued around Rs. 1,40,000 from Shangpung village (West Jaintia Hills).
Coal-laden truck seized
On May 2 at 4.30 pm, C.P Mawkon, MCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Nongstoin (West Khasi Hills) detected one coal-laden truck at Mawrusyiar village however, on arrival of Police, the driver abandoned the coal truck and fled away.
Vandalism
Child Development Officer, ICDS Project, Laskein Raliang (West Jaintia Hills) lodged a complaint that on May 1, around 8.30 pm, miscreants destroyed the Weighing Machine of Shangpung Mission-A Anganwadi Centre.
Online fraud
Rosamystica Sophia Dkhar lodged a complaint that in February 2019, she was cheated online of Rs 72,970 by four persons claiming themselves as Sana Naaz of Damascus Syria, Barrister Rafael Smith, Benedetti Edmund Joseph @ Philip Richard and Anila O Kumari.
