PHE wins first T20 Cricket tournament at Jakrem

Mawkyrwat: The office of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Mawkyrwat has become the first team to win the ‘1st T20 Cricket Tournament, 2019’ organised by the Manbha Welfare Organisation at Motmeron Jakrem, Mawkyrwat after defeating Jakrem SC by 70 runs. The tournament which was the first ever in the village was participated by 16 teams from different parts of South West Khasi Hills District. In the finals, Jakrem SC won the toss and elected to ball scoring a massive 136 runs from 19.3 overs at the loss of 10 wickets. Pynjop Lyngkhoi who scored 42 runs was the highest scorer while Iairisuk Lyngdoh of Jakrem got 3 wickets. In reply, Jakrem only scored 66 runs within which all wickets were taken in 14.5 overs. Enet Khongrymmai and Riboklang Hynniewta who got 5 and 2 wickets respectively, were the best players of PHE. The programme was attended by Chief Guest Karnatik Lyngdoh in the presence of Rescoman Ramsiej who was the guest of honour. The man of the match award was bagged by Pynjop Lyngkhoi of the office of PHE who scored 42 run while Jopbor Lyngdoh received the man of the torunament award on scoring 145 runs in the tournament.
