TURA: Two men accused of sexually assaulting a minor in the plains belt region of West Garo Hills are on the run from police.
A 17-year-old girl was returning home on Tuesday evening when two men accosted her on the Bholarbita road.
They forcibly took her to a forested area on the side of the road and committed the crime. The girl narrated the ordeal to her family and a case was filed the next day after she identified the perpetrators.
The accused, identified as Zakirul and Ashidur, have gone missing since the incident and police have registered cases under the POCSO Act.
