Laban Presbyterian HS school  excels in commerce result
SHILLONG: Laban Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured 100 per cent pass percentage in the Commerce stream result which was declared by the MBoSE on May 8. The school congratulates its students for their hard work and dedication especially Pynbianglin Nongdhar who secured a total of 414 marks with distinction in all subjects and short of only 2 marks to be in the Top ten list.

Shillong filmmaker’s docu to be screened in Gangtok
SHILLONG: The People’s Studio will hold a public screening of the acclaimed documentary film Where the Clouds End by Shillong-based filmmaker Wanphrang K Diengdoh at People’s Studio, Kazi Road, Gangtok at 4.30 pm on Tuesday. The one-time screening is free for all. In 2013, Wanphrang was awarded the ‘Early Career Film Fellowship’ from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, for his documentary proposal of Where the Clouds End. The film has been screened at the Royal Anthropological Institute, Bristol and also at RAI festival in Los Angeles. It was also screened at the United Nations World Urban Forum, Medellin, Columbia. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Wanphrang and TribenyRai, independent filmmaker from Sikkim.

Day-long outreach health camp organised at Bolsalgre
AMPATI: National Health Mission Employees Association Of Meghalaya (NEAM), District Executive Committee (DEC), South West Garo Hills in collaboration with Meghalaya Medical Services Association (MMSA) organised a one-day Outreach Health camp at Bolsalgre village under Garobadha PHC recently. The village was chosen for the camp as it is one of the most remote villages to reach. Bolsalgre and its adjoining villages have no adequate health care services and their access to primary medical care services represents mobilisation costs that cannot be afforded by many. Monsoon is like a black-out season from health care services for these villages due to difficult terrain and poor road connectivity.

Notice for transfer of ration cards
TURA:  The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Garo Hills Tura has informed all the Fair Price Shop Dealers and beneficiaries of PHH, AAY and Non-NFSA under Tura Sardar Division that the transfer of Ration Cards from existing fair price shop to other fair price shop centres will be entertained with effect from May 24 to June 14. In this regard, all the beneficiaries who want to transfer their ration cards to their convenient Fair Price Shop centre are requested to collect the transfer form and submit the same to the office of the DC along with attested copies of EPIC Card, bank passbook, phone number and two copies of recent passport size photographs. Therefore, all applications duly filled in should be submitted to the Office of the DC on or before June 14 and application beyond the last date will not be entertained.

Workshop on crisis management
SHILLONG: The Revenue & Disaster Management Department in collaboration with the British High Commissioner, Kolkata will organise a one-day State Crisis Management workshop at Pinewood Hotel, Shillong from 10 am to 5 pm on Wednesday. Additional Chief Secretary, I/c Revenue and Disaster Management P. W. Ingty will be the chief guest and will also launch the Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority logo. The workshop will be attended by participants from Government departments, stakeholders, military and Para Military forces, NCC, IRCS and resource persons will be from the British High Commissioner.
