Man sentenced to jail for rape

NONGSTOIN: The district court has sentenced a man to seven years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 for raping a girl ten years ago.
The trial court convicted the appellant as per Nongstoin Police Station case under section 376 and 363 of the Indian Penal Code after finding him guilty.
The 16-year-old victim was kidnapped and raped by Aboriginal Byrsat on October 2, 2008 at Phodkynthei in Nongstoin.
