Shillong Secondary School, Gorkha Patshala School win inter-school cricket tournaments

SHILLONG: In the Inter School Cricket Tournament 2019 (U-14), organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at Polo Grounds, Shillong Secondary School won by 9 wkts.
The match was played between the Shillong Secondary School and Jail Road Boy’s School. Shillong Secondary School won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first Jail Road Boy’s School scored 70/7 in 15 overs. Rahul Barman scored 19 runs off 18 balls and Raj Dutta scored 08 runs of 09 balls not out. Mith Paul in took 2 wicktes and Abhijeet Barua took 1 wicket. In reply, The Shillong Secondary School scored 71/1 in 11 overs.
Sumit Paul scored 33 runs off 29 balls and Parvez Ali scored 31 runs off 31 balls. Rahul Barman got 1 wicket. In the other final (U-17) match between Gorkha Patshala School and R.b Anup chand School, Gorkha Patshala School won by 8 wkts. R.B. Anup Chand School won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 75/7 in 15 overs. Sudhir Sahani scored 24 runs off 28 balls, and Deepak Sahani scored 20 runs of 28 balls. Roshan Sharma in took 2 wickets and Salman alam got 1 wicket. In reply, Gorkha Patshala School scored 78/2 in 10 overs.
Sonu alam scored 41 runs off 25 balls and Anon Ram scored 10 runs off 18  balls. Navin Kumar took 2 wickets.  In the Special Awards, U-14 Boys sponsored by SCA.  Mithu Paul of Shg Secondary School won Best Batsman. Rahul barman of Jail Road Boys HSSchool won Best bowler award. Best Wicketkeeper went to Adit Raman, St Edmunds School.  Best Disciplined Team went to Shg Secondary School. Man of the match Final and Man of the Tournament won by Sumit Paul of Shillong Secondary School. In the U-17 Boys (Babu Ondromoni Dkhar Memorial Tournament).  Best bowler went to Roshan Sharma of Gorkha Pathsala. Best Batsman went to Saumyadeep Bhattacharjee of KV upper Shillong. Best Wicketkeeper went to Karan Jaiswal of Gorkha pathsala. Man of the Match Final won by Sonu Alam of  Gorkha Pathsala,  Man of the Tournament won by Sudhir Sahani of R B Anoopchand HSSchool, Best Disciplined Team went to All Saints Diocesan HS School. Most Promising Player won by Sudip Sings of  Jail Road Boys HS School. Prizes were given by: Jasper Marak, Deputy Director, DSYA; Daniel Dann, DSO, EKHD; Eugeneson Lyngdoh, International Footballer; Naba Bhattacharjee, Secretary, MCA among others.
