Awareness programme on road safety held

SHILLONG: In order to make people understand the importance of road safety, an awareness programme was organised by the office of the Superintendent of Police, Ri Bhoi on Saturday.
There was a motorbike rally from Umiam to Jorabat as part of the programme.
Pamphlets were distributed along the highway at Umsning, Nongpoh, Byrnihat and Jorabat as an advisory to educate the masses on road safety.
R. M. Kurbah, Deputy Commissioner Ri Bhoi was the chief guest at the event attended by officials from National Highways Authority of India, DTO, Nongpoh and the Royal Enfield Riders Association of Meghalaya.
