SHILLONG:  Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said he would find out the exact status on the non-release of three months’ salary to the deficit teachers.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, he said that the delay in the payment might be due to some problems but maintained that such problems should not have obstructed the payment of salaries.

“We will resolve the issue at the earliest,” he said.

The teachers of deficit schools have not received their salaries for the past three months -March to May, Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers Association (KJDSTA) president, Babu Kular Khongjirem informed.

The executive committee of KJDSTA in its meeting held on Friday decided to meet the director on Friday to apprise him of all the pending issues of the teachers.
