NEHU Catholic body organises charity Sunday

SHILLONG: NEHU Catholic Youth Association (CYA) recently held ‘Charity Sunday’ at Ferrando Institute of Speech and Hearing (FISH), Umsning in Ri Bhoi. The theme of the event was ‘We can’t Help Everyone, but everyone can help someone’.
As many as 110 students from various departments and different parts of India attended the programme. The students raised funds for nearly two months in order to help the differently abled children of FISH. It was in line with the arms giving penance that had commenced on Ash Wednesday.
Besides fund-raising event, the students learned the sign language in order to communicate with the children. The programme commenced with Holy Eucharist, followed by outdoor activities. Each student was given three children to take care for duration of one hour.
The programme ended with distribution of gifts and snacks.
