NONGPOH: Expressing concern over lack of developmental activities in villages along the inter-state border of Assam and Meghalaya, especially in his constituency, the local legislator of Nongpoh, Mayralborn Syiem, has urged the chief minister for implementation of Inter-state Border Area Development Programme (IBADP) scheme in Nongpoh as well.
Syiem said that as some of the villages in Nongpoh share their borders with Assam, they should also receive the same benefit as their counterparts under other constituencies. He lamented that several villages of the constituency are yet to avail any benefit from the Centrally-sponsored IBADP scheme. He informed that he has taken up the matter with the Chief Minister seeking his intervention.
