2 Assam Rifles jawans killed, 4 injured in NSCN (K) ambush

GUWAHATI: Two Assam Rifles jawans were killed and four others injured when suspected NSCN (K) militants ambushed a convoy of the paramilitary force at a place between Tobu and Ukha villages in Mon district of Nagaland on Saturday afternoon.

A security source said that the rebels fired at a convoy of the Assam Rifles indiscriminately. The four injured jawans were airlifted for better treatment.

Security forces suspected the hands of NSCN9K) insurgents behind the attack given that the rebel group is active in the area of occurrence.
