GUWAHATI:  In view of marked improvement in law and order situation and requests from members of the public and organisations, the Hailakandi district administration has decided to lift curfew imposed in Hailakandi Sadar Police Station areas from 6 am on Sunday.

In an order issued to this effect on Saturday, District Magistrate Keerthi Jalli said the order to suspend curfew imposed on May 10 last in Hailakandi Sadar areas had been done following improvement in the law and order situation and pleas from public and organisations so that they carry on their essential daily work.
However, curfew will remain in force from 10 tonight to 6 am on Sunday.
It may be mentioned that the administration had lifted curfew from other parts of the district barring Hailakandi Sadar areas on May 17.
