Martial arts c’ship gets underway

SHILLONG: The East Zone Kurash National Championship 2019 under the aegis of Kurash Association of India, will be held in Tripura from May 25 to 28. Kurash, which means “attaining your goal in a fair and just manner”, is one of the oldest martial arts originating from Uzbekistan 3500 years ago, gains popularity in the Northeastern states. Nineteen Kurash athletes will exhibit their talents and skills in the championship. Meghalaya Kurash Team is being lead by general secretary, coach and four other officials. Working president L P Warjri wishes luck to all athletes.
