Post- results violence erupts in Tripura

Agartala: Police made extra deployment across the state Thursday night following report of post result violence, which left more than a hundred people including a large number of BJP cadres hospitalized.
According to report, as many as 55 counting agents of CPI (M) were allegedly manhandled by the ruling party workers mostly in South Tripura, Sepahijala, West Tripura, Khowai, Dhalai and North Tripura since yesterday afternoon with the victory of BJP.
Meanwhile, BJP alleged as many as 12 workers of their party were beaten up by CPI (M) cadres, as part of it’s strategy to create turmoil in the state.
A few houses and shops were gutted in Jirania and Teliamura of West Tripura while a 80-year-old lady was attacked in her house in Karailong area. (UNI)
