SHILLONG: Terming the performance of the Congress in the recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections as pathetic, former Home Minister and Congress leader RG Lyngdoh on Friday said the party needs to look into the leadership front and a better working policy.
Lyngdoh pointed out that the opposition needs to be strong to prevent the government from going haywire.
Earlier, Lyngdoh maintained that the people in North East are wary of certain politics of the BJP led NDA government but since Meghalaya and other North Eastern states are working with the NDA, they have to ensure that rights and aspirations of the people of the region are protected after witnessing a huge protest over the decision of the NDA to implement CAB in the country.
The statement of Lyngdoh assumes significance since the performance of the Congress in the country and the North East was far below satisfactory.
