Trial traffic run in city

SHILLONG: Following traffic congestion at Riatsamthiah and Wahingdoh, the Shillong Traffic Police will be conducting a trial run in the area on May 27 to reduce traffic snarls, an official statement said here.
According to the statement, a permanent ‘No-Entry’ will be imposed at Christian Academy junction for all types of vehicle coming from Wahingdoh and going towards Jaiaw Shyiap. Vehicles will have to follow the left side of the road proceeding towards the office of Hima Mylliem.
A permanent ‘No– Entry’ will be imposed at Hima Mylliem junction for all types of vehicle coming from Mawkhar area – office of Hima Mylliem and going towards Wahingdoh, here they will have to follow the road proceeding towards Riatsamthiah, while the stretch from Wahingdoh (No-Entry Point) up to the office of Hima Mylliem will be a ‘No – Parking’ zone.
Vehicles coming from Riatsamthiah Presbyterian Church junction will not be allowed to take right turn, instead they will have to take a left turn towards Christian Academy School. Jaiaw Shyiap, Christian Academy junction and Hima Mylliem junction will function as permanent one-way road.
