SHILLONG: In the wake of warning issued by the banned HNLC to massacre non-tribals in Meghalaya, the Home Minister, James Sangma said that the police department was doing everything in terms of protecting its citizens.

“No matter, what is being said, I assure you that police department is doing everything in terms of protecting our citizens,” James Sangma said

Earlier, the banned militant outfit Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) had threatened to shoot up to 10 non-tribal people in a minute with their automatic assault rifles while asking the police to stop harassing their family members and sympathizers

Soon after the warning, the HNLC shot off another warning saying they would adopt the massacre policy and would make non-tribals our soft targets, as non tribals are present in every book and corner of Khasi-Jaintia Hills.
