WKH adds two to merit list

NONGSTOIN: Two students from West Khasi Hills bagged the 19th and 20th positions in the top 20 merit list at the SSLC examinations.
Bantyngshain Lyngdoh Nongbri of St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Mairang bagged the 19th position and Finalist Sanglyne of Anderson Higher Secondary School, Nongstoin bagged the 20th position.
“I am really grateful to my father and mother and the teachers who were always there for me in my time of need till I made it to the top 20 list,” Bantyngshain said.
He further said that he is very happy that he could make it to the top 20 list for which he used to study more than eight hours every day. He also said avoiding mobile phone was one of the main reasons for his success.
“Mobile phones disturb a lot so we did not encourage our children to use it,” father of Bantyngshain, Armstrong Syiemlieh said.
Sanglyne ,who comes from a poor family in Upper New Nongstoin, expressed satisfaction over his untiring efforts to achieve what his family wanted.
He is the son of Cherfullman Sohshang and Fullymerry Sanglyne.
