SHILLONG: The newly elected MLA from Selsella constituency in Garo Hills, Ferlin C A Sangma was sworn in as the member of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly by the Speaker, Donkupar Roy here on Wednesday,
Soon after the swearing in ceremony, Sangma said that her area of priority would be development in various spheres in her constituency with special emphasis on education and road connectivity.
She admitted that it would be challenge for her to bring about development in the constituency in the next four years.
A Meghalaya Civil Service officer-turned-politician, Sangma said that she was comfortable and mentally prepared to serve the people in the capacity of a politician.
Ferlin C Sangma defeated her nearest rival June Eliana Marak of the Congress by a margin of 4,396 votes.
