SHILLONG: The Solid Waste Management Cell of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) will conduct a cleaning drive on June 5 at Iewduh, which is also observed as World Environment Day.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, KHADC CEM Teiñwell Dkhar said the cell was constituted on April 24, 2019 which comprises of a chairman, 13 members and an advisor.
Asked, Dkhar said the Ïewduh will be close during the cleaning drive which will start from 8:30 am.
Environmental engineer of Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, Wanshan Kharkrang said draft action plan will be formulated which will then be submitted to the Executive Committee (EC) of the KHADC for its approval.
