Duped
Clement A Sangma lodged a complaint that during the month of April and May, Rs. 48,498/- was fraudulently withdrawn from his SBI account.
Poonam Devi Kotwal of Nongmensong lodged a complaint that on May 22 and 23, unauthorized withdrawal of cash and online transaction amounting Rs 1 lakh was made from her SBI account at SBI Bhanderwah Branch.
Abducted
Four unidentified armed and masked miscreants went to Pormawlien village, West Khasi Hills on May 30 around 7 pm and abducted Daniel Daju (35) from his residence. They also took away two mobile phones of the victim. On receiving information, police rushed to the PO and search operation is being conducted to rescue the abducted victim.
Theft
Unknown miscreant(s) stole a motorcycle belonging to Timolin M Sangma from his garage on May 29 around 1 am at Rangmalgre village, East Garo Hills.
A motorcycle (ML-08F-2458) belonging to Pradip Rabha was found missing from his residence on May 29 around 9:45 am at Gophupara village, West Garo Hills.
Fraud
A person namely Tengsak G Momin and others jointly lodged a complaint that on May 29 around 1.30 pm, two persons, Lasbirth D Shira and Dimchang Sangma illegally collected money from archery counters at Tura Bazar. Later, it transpired that Rimpu instructed six persons, Jasmine Marak, Jameetar Sangma, Lasbirth D Shira and others to collect money from archery counters.
Krishna Deo Ray of Police Reserve lodged a complaint that on August 14, 2016, Md. Nabi Ali (45) of Amin Gaon, Jhalukbari, Guwahati, borrowed Rs. 1 lakh from the former with a promise to repay the latter by the end of December 2016, but failed to do so.
Accident
An accident took place between a tempo truck (ML-08G-1889) and a motorcycle (ML-08F-9226) ridden by Grozier M Sangma at Baishpara, South West Garo Hills, on May 29 around 3:40 pm. As a result, the motorcycle rider sustained injuries and was admitted to Garobadha CHC from where he was referred to Tura CH for treatment.
