NONGPOH: Umsning MDC Macdalyne Sawkmie Mawlong inaugurated the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) building at Mairung, Ri Bhoi, on Saturday. The building has been sanctioned under MGNREGS for Rs 6.50 lakhs.
In her address, Sawkmie lauded the efforts and vision of the village leaders for the initiative while also heaping words of praises for the Anganwadi workers for their dedicated service.
She also asked people to cooperate with village leaders and Aganwadi workers to ensure the building benefits young children and pregnant women.
Others who were present included Headman P Nongbsap, supervisor from CHC Umsning, village leaders and local residents.
